WICKED! is about blood, violence, and weapons, about sex and genitals, bowels, bodily fluids, and decay. And yes, it is about design. It volatilely teases with physical and intense attractions and anxieties thrown onto everyday objects. One wonders: Who could I give it to?! From a distance we know how disgusting things can get, and usually we feel superiour to the wicked - or the bad taste. But it is thinkable for the observer to actually be revolting - to use objects and living beings in a way close to destruction, supression and decay. Just thinkable. For a moment. And then flip the page.

The leap it actually takes to realize what destruction and degradation are and how many other forms they take in our everyday lives needs quite a while. Our fascination with them is enjoyable from a distance. But right in the middle of the horror - of the waste of our energies - most of us would simply fold. In a hopeless, immobile situation that confronts us with our own destruction we do not know any answers.

128 Colors The color manufacturer Katrin Trautwein (KT.COLORS) went back to see colors as a material, rather than a mathematical equation. She asked herself what would happen, if colors were being selected again according to considerations of coloring materials and their history of use. Her book 128 COLORS takes into account the rich compendium of cultural meaning that arose in the course of the human endeavor to create poetic and expressive paints. In over three decades of her work with architects and designers she now presents us her intuitive collection of colors that includes and extends the 1959 Polychromie.

Each color is laid out along its story, in its spatial qualities, historical pigmentation, industrial pigmentation and façade suitability. The CMYK and RGB approximations are a useful addition to this on-site working tool.
To make this book as a print product almost 100% true to the paint products a range of color specialists were assembled: pre-press, print, color and binding specialists translated the colors within the Aniva Scale plus an addition of another 12 true colors from the Pantone Scale. The binding allows to pick each bled-off color sheet and embed it into a surrounding.
